Boxing Rounds

Nowadays full championship level fights are scheduled to go 12 x3 minute rounds with 1 minute to rest in between. If you have ever sparred or fought professionally then you know that's a long time in the ring, so respect the work ethic of a professional.
Historically before the 1920's there weren't any limits to rounds.

Very savage but thankfully it was changed.

4 Rounds

Just Starting

Usually given to debut fighters as a short introduction to the professional game. You will even find 'Journeymen' fighters amongst the bunch to test these guys.

10 Rounds

On the verge of title contender

This is the highest amount of rounds for non-title bouts.
When you see a fighter with a 20-0 record for example, there's a high probability that he's seen 10 rounds.

Its a free-for-all at this stage as fighters usually are mandated to fight for a champion belt in due time. Its not guaranteed because there's only a limited amount of World championship titles so if the opportunity arises then it normally taken.

6-8 Rounds

On your Way

The next stages in a fighter's career. Should be self-explanatory More rounds, More responsibilities. A higher chance to score a KO a higher chance of someone knock you back to the ice ages.

12 Rounds

Championship Level

Once a fighter reaches this level, no more 4,6 or 8 rounds. Playtime is done and anything 10 rounds and below is myth. All title fights are scheduled for a gruesome 12 rounds.

No more excuses and if you think that 12 is too many then you are welcome to try and knock your opponent out early or you can quit.

Just remember that option 1 comes with respect but option 2 comes with the complete opposite.

15 Rounds (Expired)

Old Skool

From the 1920-1980s this was the thing.  Hard action, tough leather gloves, less technology and less human rights.

So brutal that they cut it down to 12 as someone died behind this. The late Kim Duk-koo when he fought Ray Mancini.

However, some of the greatest fighters to even laced them marked  their territory agreeing to fight 15 which became the norm.
